Piotr Niepsuj
SMALL SMALL SPACE GOES TO A BIG BIG PLACE
May 21 — 25 / 2024
For the exhibition by the photographer Piotr Niepsuj, we wanted to document the spaces and life
of the fruit and vegetable market in Milan (the largest in Italy and one of the oldest in Europe),
which will soon be demolished to leave space for the new building.
For the occasion, we decided to exhibit the works inside the market itself, occupying a small temporary space,
so as to allow visitors to experience the energy and come into contact with the people who make this place unique.
EXHIBITION TEXT
Another piece of history of Milan is going away and we thought it would be a good idea to say
good-bye properly.
The old building of Ortomercato, designed by G.Amorosi,S. Parrella e G. Cattorini
and built in 1965 will be demolished soon
to give space to the more modern, eco-friendlier,
cleaner and probably better one.
We do know that the current one is not perfect, but we kind of love it and are a little sad
to see it go away...
